Shimus DarkRaven's School for New Players!
As per the name of thread; I am offering all my guild wars knowledge in it's entirety to those who enroll my aid to help them.
Simply put; I do not claim to be the "master" of the game; nor do I have the "best" of anything. Yet, I am willing to share what I do believe I have a great amount of: Knowledge. Yes; Knowledge. Plain and simple questions, and answers.
This School, although lacking a zone in-game, can be contacted through my main character, Shimus DarkRaven. Any new player is welcome, please come. I wouldn't be much a teacher without new students, now would I?
Worried about an enrollment fee? Don't be! I don't require anything of you but your time if you're willing to sit down and hash out all those unknowns, and I shall try my best to answer any question that comes my way. We were all new at one point; whether people want to admit it or not. I feel this is my duty, as I like teaching, to teach the new people of the game the ropes, and what does what, what goes where, what this does, etc.
Personally, I'm sick of the welcome new players get in this game from a general audience from any one district. From "n00b" to "your such a <Censored> noobie" I feel these responses are so hypocritical. They all had to be new at one point themselves. My guess is those people didn't get help when they needed it; so they vent it on other new people.
Another reason I offer this service is to educate people in the ways of the game, if you ever noticed those later end zones, like the Fissure of Woe states they "only want experienced players" can, in my opinion, be cured with a simple method on how to do what if people merely listened.
So as such, anyone wishing to attend my school, my hours of operation on the game vary anywhere from late nights to all day long. I'm in the eastern standard time zone, so just hit the [N] button and friends list my character, Shimus DarkRaven. If I'm not on, it's one of those rare times I'm actually sleeping
I'm more then happy to help, as anyone who met me can attest to it. I love helping plain and simple; I love giving back that which was given to me. I believe it was plato who stated, "The world without teachers leaves an ignorant age to head." So I'm doing what small part I can.
I'm totally serious. I don't mind random tells asking me, nor do I mind posts here. I'm totally open to help, consider me your one of your stops in the learning process. I would really like to be there when you need help; to share the knowledge.
There is no Knowledge that Isn't power.
Contact me through PM's as well. Any ways of reaching me with your questions, In game, on forum, or through my email [email protected] are welcome.
After a couple of pm's, I reveal that my age is 19. They <those parties> were curious. I don't know why this shocked said parties, but eh.

Thank you for posting. So many reads, yet not one reply, I was starting to wonder if maybe I scared them all off with something I said? :P

I think the biggest problem is that people don't want to admit in public that they want some help. Also, it seems that anyone responding positively to something like this gets flamed by utter morons with nothing better to do. (See all the negative comments in the LBS thread and all the crap in the learn to solo UW thread, if that still exists anymore).
But ultimately most people who have enough sense to look for their own answers tend to find them.

Exactly why I posted this thread. There will always be those who seek to become enlightened, and I'm merely a tool them help them become so. I just wish people would be un-afraid to post. If someone flames someone who's asking a legit question, I'll be the first to see the reason why. I don't take kindly to people who get in the way of teaching. Everyone has to be taught sometime, even those hypocritical people who use "newb" had to once be taught, even if they self-taught themselves the rest of the game, they still received help themselves, and are lax to admit it.
Back to the main topic, please post. This is why this thread is here. That's all
Doesn't have to be "all in-game" I can help here too if that what people are thinkin'

If this truly is the consensus, people need to learn to not care what other people say <about flaming, that is> and seek knowledge. If they truly want to learn like I've seen/had mentioned, they'll look for it.
If everyone is afraid to learn, we'll be back in the stone age before we know it.
I urge any lurkers reading this, post if you have questions!
